This
was a wedding reception on the back lawn of a vacation home in San
Diego, California. The setting was beautiful and I set up adjacent to a
large gazebo which held the bridal party table. I placed my speakers on
either side of the gazebo and took great care to route the cables in
such a way as to hide and minimize their appearance. There was a very
loud concert about a block away (Beach Boys and Jewel performing for
the CEO of Qualcomm) and the police did mistakenly arrive at our
location due to a misplaced neighbor complaint about noise. As a
result, I had no choice but to lower the volume of the dance music to
about half, but I still managed to keep the dance floor moving and
people having fun. The tastes were very diverse with music requests
coming in for country, latin, hip hop, oldies and even opa music
(Sirtaki) and I was able to satisfy them all.
This was a great night and I am grateful to have been able to play a
part in it.
